Moritz Schell, is working since 2000 as a freelance photographer in Vienna/Austria. Working mainly with actor, musicians and dancers, his potrait and editorial photography is published in several renowned European magazines like STERN or GQ Germany. Beyond that he is known for his intimate and sometimes provocative erotic art.
Being a self-educated photographer, Moritz has a very emotional approach tot his work, blurring the borders between his private and professional life. To me, photography is first of all being excited about what you see, going through this world with eyes wide open. Technical stuff comes second.
Consequently his pictures, although staged and produced, derive their energy from capturing the exact right moment, the frequently quoted moment décisif. He creates an atmosphere in which the people in front of the camera can behave rather than act, and completely can forget the set, the flashlights, the camera. Improvisation and movement are given large space.
