In the course of his acclaimed career in the ’70s and ’80s, he painted more than 500 covers, for such books as Zora the Vampire and 44 Magnum. Taglietti was one of most outstanding artists of the golden age of Italian comics. His iconic work is overflowing with violence and eroticism. Emanuele Taglietti is an Italian set designer and painter. Born in Ferrara, he has worked on several movie sets with great directors such as Federico Fellini, Marco Ferreri, Sergio Leone and Ettore Scola.
In 1973 he began working with the publishing house Edifumetto, creating about 700 covers. He immediately distinguished himself in his work by his versatility in different genres, his brilliant colours and his ability as a portraitist. At the same time, he taught painting at Ferrara’s Art Institute. He currently continues his activity as painter and illustrator. During his travels in Italy and abroad, he devotes his time to watercolours, creating plein air landscape paintings.
